Jack Doderico has added his name to the Armstrong Athletics ‘Athlete of the Year’ honour roll at the recent 2015/16 season awards night. The ‘Flying Stache’ was awarded the perpetual trophy in his first year with the group, following a very consistent season culminating with his fantastic victory in the Stawell Bill McManus 400m Backmarkers Handicap.
Jack overcame significant geographical challenges by travelling 2 hours from Glengarry to Melbourne and then back again for each training session. Jack would travel up to 6 hours to and from some competitions. That didn’t deter the big fella who continued to turn up and give his very best every session.
Some of Jack’s other highlights included:
-9 x 400m Finals, 3 x 550m Finals & 1 x 200m Final
-Devonport 400m Gift and 200m Finalist (TAS)
-Camden Classic Finalist (SA)
-Ringwood 400m Gift Finalist
-Yarra Ranges 550m Finalist
Congratulations Jack!
